Errors and what they mean
List of errors, what they mean, and how to fix...
Microsoft .NET Framework Error
This error occurs when the config file associated with the application is not present. For example, the CosmoInstaller.exe.config file must be in the same folder when you run the program. The config files store your licence key and customisation so that the program can function properly and must be sent. Some relevant DLL and batch files are embedded inside the program and created on program launch. However, this is not possible for a config file.
In addition, the child program's config file cannot be renamed and must stay original. If it changes, the program will not know what it has been renamed to and won't know what customization has happened. It will simply fail to launch.
Error: GitHub is not establishing a connection
One of three factors could cause this error
Your computer has lost access to an internet connection
GitHub is completely down
Lastly, and probably the most likely, Cosmo is in the middle of an update on GitHub. The old install files have just been deleted in anticipation of new ones. It is rare for this to happen to the child installer, as those don't receive updates, but it could happen under unusual circumstances. If this happens to the parent installer, don't worry. You are just about to receive another update. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Error: Not all boxes filled in
This is pretty self-explanatory. You haven't filled in all the relevant info into the Cosmo Parent Installer's text fields.
Error: Something is wrong with the config file, and Error: Something is wrong with the data entered
Both of these errors generally come down to the same issue. The config file is present but has been configured incorrectly or edited. You will need to generate a fresh install to fix this.
Error: Licence key not present
If anyone gets this message, let me know. It's definitely something someone could get, but almost impossible. If you get this message, something has SERIOUSLY messed up and needs looking at.
This licence has been blacklisted
This error is often followed with a reason. This should explain why the licence has been blacklisted. Blacklisted licences are different from expired licences and are being deliberately blocked. The most common reason for this is when a licence has been used for piracy.
